License Exams

Amateur Radio License Exams – Sat., Sept 15

HamCon 2018 is pleased to host a session where you can take FCC amateur-radio license exams. The session is sponsored by the WY7U Exam Group. The tests are administered by ARRL accredited examiners under the FCC’s Volunteer Examiner Coordinator system and are offered for Technician, General and Extra Class licenses.

There is no need to pre-register for the tests, but be sure you have the documents and test fee when you come. Application forms are available by 8:00 AM; testing starts at 8:30 AM, last seating is 9:30 AM; and tests collected by 11:00 AM. Those planning to take multiple tests should start testing at 8:30 AM.

Please note: You do not have to register or pay admission if you are coming only to take a license exam. However, if you pass your exam as a NEW ham, show your ARRL Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination at the registration desk to receive free admission to the hamfest.

Fee: $15 payable at the door. Cash, or check made payable to SARC.

Info needed: Photo ID (driver’s license ID good), Social Security number or Federal Registration Number (FRN), and email address.

Upgrade to General or Extra:

Info needed: Photo ID (driver’s license ID good), paper copy of current amateur-radio license, and email address.
